Memphis, TN - March 2, 2009 - Chantilly, Va.-based InfinityQS® International recently committed to donate $1 million to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital®, one of the world's premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.
InfinityQS has already donated $250,000 of the $1 million commitment to support St. Jude's groundbreaking research and lifesaving care since identifying the hospital as its sole charitable partner in 2005.
"We chose to direct all of our charitable giving to a single organization so that we could maximize our impact," said Michael A. Lyle, president and CEO of InfinityQS. "After visiting St. Jude Research Hospital on several occasions, we were able to see first-hand how our contributions were helping save children's lives every day."
InfinityQS, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2009, provides quality control software that helps manufacturers reduce scrap, comply with regulations and standards and meet customer requirements. InfinityQS' Statistical Process Control (SPC) software is being used worldwide by Fortune 100 companies to help them reduce manufacturing costs and improve product quality.
Charitable gifts from companies like InfinityQS have helped St. Jude make tremendous strides in its mission to find cures and save children. St. Jude's development of combination therapy for children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), the most common form of childhood cancer, revolutionized leukemia therapy worldwide and increased the survival rate from 4 percent, when St. Jude opened in 1962, to 94 percent today. St. Jude's innovative research has also led to a dramatic increase in survival rates for children with many other major forms of cancer.
About St. Jude St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases.
