Branson Ultrasonic Welders to Come Fully Equipped with Data Logging and SPC Integration Capabilities

Chantilly, VA - July 6, 2010 - InfinityQS, the top ranked Statistical Process Control (SPC) software company, and Branson, the leader in plastics joining and metal welding, announced today they are including XPort, the quality control integration application, with all Branson 2000X touch screen welders. Pairing these welders with the XPort utility provides increased visibility into the welding process, enabling manufacturers to increase the value and performance of their weld processes.

The XPort utility logs weld parameters and serves as an interface into InfinityQS' ProFicient SPC suite of applications as well as other quality control software for monitoring and analysis. Additionally, XPort provides real-time visual displays of critical welding attributes, equipment error codes and other summary information from a single Branson welder or multiple welders across a production floor.

"Our customers understand that quality is a key differentiator and they rely on Branson welders to consistently perform at the highest level," said Jeff Frantz, director of ultrasonic business development at Branson. "XPort ensures that our customers are optimizing the use of their Branson machines by improving visibility into the system as a whole."

In addition, Branson's customers who have both XPort and ProFicient SPC software have the ability to generate color-coded indicators of whether welder characteristic specifications are within the expected tolerances and they can display SPC charts and reports.

"This technology is having a significant impact on quality and operational efficiency because it gives manufacturers another way to quickly build these elements into their processes," said Michael A. Lyle, president and CEO of InfinityQS. "XPort integrates weld processes into the larger enterprise and gives manufacturers actionable intelligence that ultimately results in quantifiable bottom line improvements."
