Enterprise quality software goes live at St. Louis and Bethlehem, Pa., facilities with deployments scheduled for five remaining plants by end of 2013 to help packaging manufacturer attain visibility across manufacturing operations

Fairfax, Va. – August 6, 2013InfinityQS International, Inc., the global authority on real-time Manufacturing Intelligence and enterprise quality, today announced that Alpha Packaging,  a manufacturer and decorator of bottles and jars for the nutritional, pharmaceutical, personal care, household and automotive chemical, and niche food and beverage markets, has selected InfinityQS ProFicient to automate data collection, take control of quality, and achieve full visibility across its manufacturing operations. Alpha Packaging has deployed InfinityQS ProFicient at its St. Louis and Bethlehem, Pa., plants with the remaining five plants scheduled for rollout during the 2013 calendar year.

Shane Jordan, director of quality, Alpha Packaging, said, “InfinityQS ProFicient was highly recommended by many of our quality managers as the industry standard for real-time Manufacturing Intelligence. The ability to take action based on real-time data from our machines allows us to be more proactive about quality and prevent any potential downstream problems with the bottles even after production.”

Alpha Packaging’s largest customer segment is the vitamin and mineral supplements (VMS) category, and its bottles can be found in the health and beauty sections of retailers such as Walmart, Target, Walgreens and CVS pharmacies. Alpha Packaging will use InfinityQS ProFicient to assist in producing the appropriate data and level of quality expected by the pharmaceutical industry for high-density polyethylene, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polylactide (PLA) bottles and jars. The company plans to incorporate InfinityQS ProFicient into its current quality assurance programs, as well as integrate it with the company’s IT system to achieve full visibility across the enterprise. Since each plant operates a bit differently, the reliable and consistent data collected across all the plants will create a complete picture of operations, regardless of the machine platforms or processes at each plant.

Michael Lyle, president and CEO, InfinityQS, said, “With Alpha Packaging’s established success in the pharmaceutical industry, the company understands the importance of having a technology solution in place to help ensure compliance with 21 CFR Part 11 regulations and audits. InfinityQS ProFicient offers a single, centralized database with real-time data collection and advanced reporting that will not only fill this need, but also provide Alpha Packaging with the Manufacturing Intelligence necessary to maintain its position as a leader in this market space.”
