InfinityQS® offers wireless gauging hardware to help you send data quickly and efficiently to the ProFicient Statistical Process Control (SPC) Unified Data Repository.

 
Our wireless gauging products are designed specifically for industrial and manufacturing environments and work with a wide variety of gauges. Wireless data collection offers multiple advantages:

  • One device can serve as a central base station for a wide area
  • A single device can communicate multiple remotes connected to multiple gauges — as many as you need in the area
  • No wires or cables to deal with
  • Easy to configure with a single, standard setting

InfinityQS MobileCollect Wireless System

The InfinityQS MobileCollect Wireless System allows you to choose from several transmitter and base options to fit your gauging and measurement collection requirements. 

MobileCollect supports a broad range of digital and RS-232 gauges including handheld gauges from manufacturers such as Brown & Sharpe, CDI, Dillon, Flexbar, Federal Maxum, Fowler, LMI, Mahr Federal, Mitutoyo, Ono Sokki, Starrett, Sylvac, and others. MobileCollect supports our previous wireless system, GaugeWay Wireless, and allows you to mix MobileCollect and GaugeWay wireless in a wireless configuration.

Mobile Modules and Remotes are transmitters that send measurement data to a base unit. A typical wireless system has multiple transmitters and bases. 

A wireless measurement collection system is easy to configure: Simply connect a base unit to the PC that will receive your wireless data from a transmitter. In more complex setups, multiple base units receive data from dozens of transmitters. The system can be configured as fixed-base or mobile-base.

Simply select the right combination of transmitters and base units to flexibly create the right setup for your environment.

Transmitters: Mobile Modules

Mobile Modules are battery powered and connect to common gauges such as calipers and micrometers. Remotes are powered by an external power source (such as an AC adapter) and are typically used to transfer measurement data from gauge interfaces, scales, and other equipment.

Digital Mobile Module | RS-232

The Digital Mobile Module is used to capture measurements from most digital and RS-232 handheld gauges such as calipers, micrometers, digital indicators, and others.

  • Automatically turns itself off after each reading; no power switch required
  • Read button is rated for 1 million cycles
  • Gauge cable in lengths up to 72”

Command Mobile Module
The Command Mobile Module functions the same way the Digital Mobile Module does—with the added ability to send a command from a base unit to initiate a gauge reading.

Key Features:
  • Same as the Digital Mobile Module; however, battery life is reduced when used in the Command mode
  • Responds to read requests and sleep cycle commands from a base unit
  • Allows you to provide complete remote control of a mobile module

RS-232 Mobile Module
The RS-232 Mobile Module supports RS-232 gauges not supported by the Digital Mobile Module or the Command Mobile Module.

Key Features:
  • Same as the Digital Mobile Module; however, range is up to 100 feet and battery life will be influenced by RS-232 interface requirements
  • Use for RS-232 devices that are not supported by the Digital Mobile Module

Receivers: Base Units

Bases receive measurements from transmitters (Mobile Modules and Remotes). The bases are connected to a PC or laptop by a USB or RS-232 port. All data sent to USB ports appear as standard RS-232 data to your application.

InfinityQS USB Base
The USB Base receives measurements from Mobile Modules and Remotes. This base connects directly to a USB port on a PC or a laptop. It is powered by the USB port and does not need a separate AC adapter.

  • RF Sniffer determines clear channels for the most reliable operation
  • Supports an unlimited number of Mobile Modules
  • Configured by an easy-to-use Windows setup program
  • Field upgradeable firmware
  • Range is up to 133 feet
  • Several base units may be placed adjacent to each other; each base will receive data only from the Mobile Modules or Remotes that have been associated with the base
  • Data sent to the PC consists of ASCII strings that are accepted by virtually all SPC-DAQ software
  • WedgeLink Xpress keyboard wedge included at no additional charge

InfinityQS RS-232 Base
The RS-232 Base receives measurements from Mobile Modules and Remotes. This base connects to an RS-232 port on the PC and is powered by a separate AC adapter.

Key Features:
  • Same as USB Base; however, does not have RF Sniffer
